About the role

Freespace by Workplace Fabric is a rapidly growing technology company. Our goal is to help our clients to create the most efficient, effective, and engaging working environments. Using patented sensor technology, data analytics, and innovative displays, we help our clients to get the best out of their workspace while enabling them to fully understand the utilization of their office buildings.

Due to growth, we are expanding our Production team and we’re looking to recruit an Assembly Technician to support the assembly and shipping of our product to clients around the world.

On a day-to-day basis, you will

  • Understand and implement steps in the manufacturing process including device configuration, troubleshooting, preparation, and assembly.
  • Assist with the packaging and shipping of product to ensure timely arrival at a global level.
  • Work closely with the support team to manage the returns process including raising RMA documentation, testing reports, and classifying errors and handling outbound replacement and warranty process.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks to confirm stock availability, manage inbound and outbound stock and updating our database.
  • Contribute to the smooth optimisation of workflow and output and the implementation of new techniques to improve efficiency and increase quality.
  • Liaise with the software team to test all aspects of the system, from hardware to software.
  • Engage in the testing and development of new parts, products, and services to meet the evolving business needs.
  • Contribute to the development of smooth operational workflows as needed by production, operations, or support teams.
  • Become an expert in the manufacturing and installation process. Offer training for new graduates in installation and able to support installers on site and remotely.

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in an environment where you had to follow prescribed operational processes, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Whilst not essential, hands on experience of working with hardware and/or software, preferably with exposure to semiconductors or electronics would be an advantage.
  • Able to work methodically in a highly organised way.
  • An outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to keep on top of workload with structured organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills when facing new challenges.
